Item Description
Georg Adam Scheid, (1838–1921), A pair of Art Nouveau silver and enamel spill vases, each decorated with stylised standing peacocks and enamelled feathers, each stamped "G.A.S.", 12.5cm high.
Georg Adam Scheid was a prominent Viennese silversmith, known for his finely worked silver and colourful enamel decoration. These glass-lined spill vases are a particularly decorative example of his work, featuring two peacocks with their elaborate feathers picked out in coloured enamel. The combination of silver, glass and vibrant enamel gives the pair a striking appearance, making them a standout lot in this month's sale.
