Asian Art

Our Asian Art department offers ceramics, textiles, paintings, furniture, carvings and metalwork as part of our monthly general sales. 

Expertise within the department spans a wide geographic area with specialisms including artwork and domestic items from China, Japan, Korea, India and Southeast Asia, made in the 19th century and earlier. Oriental items remain among the most buoyant areas of the antique market with sales driven by accurate identification and provenance. Our in-house expertise is supported by a network of consultants, experienced in valuing rare and unusual pieces.

While there is an active domestic market for Asian art, our marketing reach and client contacts help is reach the Far Eastern market. Collectors can bid online from anywhere in the world using Easy Live Auctions or The Sale Room. RWB Auctions ships globally via our in-house delivery service.

You will also find pieces from Asian makers in our specialist Fine Art, Silver and Decorative Arts sales.

Please note that the sale of elephant ivory was outlawed in the UK in 2022. While there are some exceptions to the law, we are unlikely to be able to consign your antique ivory items for sale at RWB Auctions.
