Item Description
A scarce full set of 1936 Winnie the Pooh figures by Fulham Potteries, one of six sets believed to have been produced by the company, featuring Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, and Kanga with Roo in pouch, all with incised names to to base. Christopher Robin Height 24cm.
An exceptionally rare offering: the 1936 Winnie the Pooh character figures by Fulham Potteries were designed in the mid-1930s by sculptor A. R. White. These are distinct from the more common Royal Doulton and Beswick Winnie the Pooh figurines that were produced later.
These charming figures were produced in only very limited numbers. Their commercial reception at the time was modest, resulting in a short production run. Experts estimate that only a handful of complete sets are known to exist, making these highly sought after for keen collectors.
This sale represents a rare opportunity to acquire early interpretations of A. A. Milne’s beloved characters - pieces that seldom appear on the market and are celebrated for their whimsical design, historical significance, and remarkable scarcity.
