What Does The Scorpion Symbolise?
The scorpion symbol often represents protection, resilience, and hidden strength. During the Victorian and Edwardian periods, when symbolic jewellery was highly fashionable, the scorpion's defensive nature made it a fitting emblem for personal empowerment or self-preservation. At the same time, its exotic and slightly dangerous connotation aligned with the era's fascination with the mysterious and the natural world. A scorpion brooch may have served not only as an ornament but also as a quiet expression of inner fortitude, independence, or even romantic intensity, depending on the wearer's intent.
What Does The Moonstone Symbolise?
Moonstones can symbolise intuition, emotional depth, and femininity. Favoured in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for its soft, ethereal glow, moonstone was believed to hold protective and spiritual properties, particularly linked to love and dreams. Its shimmering surface, reminiscent of moonlight, made it especially popular in sentimental or symbolic pieces, often worn as amulets or tokens of affection.
