What is your role at RWB Auctions?

My main role is Business Development so much of my time is spent engaging with our existing and potential new clients to ensure we are exceeding their expectations. I am also a valuer in different fields and will be on the rostrum for sales throughout the year.

What brought you into this role?

I've spent a lifetime engaged with the antiques world as an avid collector, reputable dealer, antique shop manager, fair employee, researcher, writer for the antiques and lifestyle industry and much more beside. It has given me a good breadth of knowledge across many antique and collectable fields but out of all of them I have a particular specialism in Militaria, the Decorative Arts and Science & Technology.

What has been a highlight of your Career so far?

For me, the fun part has been placing rare and fascinating items with equally fascinating people, and I've been lucky to cross paths with many real characters! Whether it's a museum, collector, dealer or just a keen teenager, I genuinely enjoy meeting each new guardian of these items.

What book do you currently have beside your bed?

While I do have a house full of well-thumbed reference books, I've also always had a soft spot for poetry both old and new. Currently, I have a copy of Michael Rosen's 'Many Different Kinds of Love' beside my bed which I keep dipping in and out of. Although traditionally known as a children's poet, this adult work about his personal experience during Covid is touching on many levels.
